Tyree Pink Lemonade Acropora

Tyree Pink Lemonade is an old-school collector Acropora known for lemon-yellow branches, contrasting pink polyps and pastel growth tips. Its appearance changes considerably with spectrum and maturity, so the Reef Culture Co. mother-colony photographs are the best reference for our lineage.

Lineage and story

Before it became Pink Lemonade, this coral circulated as the Lime Green Acro. Reeffarmers documents its history through early SPS collectors including Steve Tyree, John “Tubs” Susbilla and Hugo Zuniga.

The coral initially showed fairly modest coloration. Its more dramatic pigments developed after a frag was placed under 20,000 K metal halides. Tubs subsequently renamed it Pink Lemonade for marketing—a rare case where the marketing department improved the situation.

Steve Tyree believed the original coral was exported from the Solomon Islands, although the precise wild collection history was never formally documented. Read the original Reeffarmers history.

What to expect

This is a cut-to-order mother-colony listing. Frags are approximately ¾ inch and healed for 2–3 weeks before shipping. The photographs show our mother colony, not the exact frag.
