Peng’s Heart of the Ocean is a collector Acropora known for exceptionally deep blue coloration. It can be difficult to photograph accurately, so use the Reef Culture Co. mother-colony photographs as the best reference for how this lineage presents in our system.

Lineage and story

HOTO’s hobby history is documented back to at least 2017. Reef2Reef member jda described cutting a frag for Peng; after Peng reportedly lost his colony, other reef keepers continued growing and distributing the lineage. Read the original HOTO discussion.

Later hobby documentation describes HOTO as unusually slow-growing and capable of developing some of the deepest blue coloration seen in an Acropora. See the documented grow-out.

Availability

Grow-out colony — estimated frag availability in 2027.

This listing remains active to document the lineage and let collectors follow its progress, but frags are not currently available. The 2027 estimate is not a guaranteed release date, and we are not accepting preorders.

When healthy colony growth allows, frags will be cut to order and properly healed before shipping. We will not cut the colony early simply to meet a calendar date.
