Cheshire Cat Micromussa
The moment we saw this coral, it brought us straight back to the first time we watched Alice in Wonderland. Its glowing purple-and-pink tissue, fluorescent green details, and mischievous-looking centers immediately reminded us of the Cheshire Cat.
The name stuck instantly. Some corals require weeks of debate and increasingly ridiculous suggestions. This one introduced itself.
Lineage and story
Cheshire Cat is an original Reef Culture Co. selection that we have aquacultured and grown in our own system. It is an RCC house lineage, named for the color and character we saw in the coral—not a claimed connection to another vendor’s similarly named strain.
Use the Reef Culture Co. mother-colony photographs as the best reference for our lineage. Its balance of purple, pink, and fluorescent green will naturally shift with lighting spectrum, intensity, nutrients, and aquarium conditions.

Cut-to-order frags are taken from our mother colony and allowed approximately 2–3 weeks to heal and stabilize before shipping. Shape, polyp pattern, and color balance will vary naturally between frags.

Maintain stable alkalinity, calcium, salinity, and nutrients. Avoid placing fleshy polyps in direct flow or immediately exposing the coral to intense light.
