CB Maleficent Acropora — Cornbred Lineage

CB Maleficent is a classic named Acropora prized for its saturated red-to-crimson coloration, often developing pink-red highlights and fiery orange undertones. Unlike many collector Acropora, its appeal is especially clear under balanced white or full-spectrum reef lighting. Use our mother-colony video as the best reference for how this lineage presents in our system.

Lineage and history

This coral has been documented in the reef hobby since at least 2014. An early hobby growth thread reports that Fire Corals sold a coral called Tormenta De Fuego and that Fire Corals and Cornbred obtained their pieces from the same source. Cornbred later released its piece under the Maleficent name.

That account is hobby history rather than a formal pedigree, but it provides useful context for this established old-school Acropora.
